Cheyenne Jackson, Laura Benanti, Wicked Cast & More Will Celebrate Kristin Chenoweth at Drama League Gala

Broadway favorites Cheyenne Jackson, Laura Benanti and Joel Grey are among the stars who will head to the Pierre Hotel on February 6 to help the Drama League honor Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth at their 28th annual gala, A Musical Celebration of Broadway. The evening’s all-star tribute, directed by Evan Pappas, will support the Drama League’s famed Directors Project.

In addition to Grey, Jackson and Benanti, the evening’s guests will include Elaine Paige, Donna Murphy, Debra Monk, Andrew Lippa, Marlo Thomas, Brent Barrett, Carole Shelley, Josh Young, David Elder, Marni Nixon, Jason Graae, Eden Espinosa, Kevin Clash from Sesame Street, as well as original and current cast members from the Broadway musical Wicked.

The show will include selections from Chenoweth’s impressive resume, featuring numbers from Wicked, Glee, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Candide, Promises, Promises, Steel Pier, The Apple Tree, the TV adaptations of Annie and The Music Man and more.

Kristin Chenoweth to be Honored by Drama League at Annual Gala

The Drama League will honor Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth at their 28th annual gala, entitled A Musical Celebration of Broadway, on February 6 at the Pierre Hotel. The evening will include performances from yet-to-be announced Broadway and Hollywood actors.

Chenoweth is a Tony winner for You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and received a nomination for Wicked. Her other Broadway credits include Promises, Promises, The Apple Tree, Epic Proportions and Steel Pier. Chenoweth earned an Emmy Award for Pushing Daisies and nominations for Glee. Her many film and TV credits include the upcoming series G.C.B., You Again, Four Christmases, Deck the Halls, The West Wing, RV, Bewitched and Kristin. She has also released four solo albums, including this year’s country record, Some Lessons Learned.

The actress is no stranger to accolades, having been inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame and named Broadway.com’s Star of the Year in 2010.
